The perfect Dictature
I've experienced your land in 2004 and
again in 2008. You have the same charm but unfortunately still on the wrong
slope. The lady, as it is called, Aung San Su Kyi remains under house arrest.
There is an American Mormon who made a night vision and predicted that
misfortune would happen to the lady. Then in May he decided to cross the Inya
Lake leading into the house where the lady is kept without raising the
attention of the guards. He wanted to tell her that the sword of Damocles is
hanging out on her. I wonder what's the worst thing that may happen to a lady
of 60 years imprisoned for over two decades? Hah! the Mormons and their vision!
It asks only to curse him to do such thing. It's been almost 20 years since the
lady is liquidated politically and when the hope of liberation comes, we had
the unfortunate chance to see the appearance of a crappy American Mormon. The
hell. So not too many changes and the lady got 5 additional years of house
arrest for "hosting illegally a foreigner in her house".
Nothing has changed, still the same number 1 and
with his oddly iron physical constitution. But his North Korean counterpart is
not very healthy currently, therefore there is hope that rogues can not
disabuse death. The future is bleak for this country that has known only war
and people in fatigues for 50 years.
Hopes seem muffled, revolts tanned, ideas
stillborn thank to the total brain wash operation conducted by the regime. A
clean and orderly population. The violence here is calm. Contrary to what one believes
there is no military anywhere with Kalashnikov. This violence is diffuse,
integrated, assimilated and assigned to the victims themselves. It is the
country of accusations and blackmail. The small vendor in the round-about is an
indicator, everyone informing on everyone. What makes this country one of the
most locked of the world as the legitimated violence of the power is exercised
by the people themselves. One could say cynically that this country has
perfected the art of dictatorship and control of mentality.
Any change
will be slow and will require a phase of chaos with a heavy human cost. It will
be the price. Otherwise, nothing will change and the General will give birth to
other generals once torn by the grim reaper. But easier to say with a the
stomach full of wine and cheese, and when we never have experienced the prisons
of Mandalay. A hell on earth.
